We’re excited to announce that Dawson’s blog is featured on the Take Five A Day site. For any of you that aren’t already aware, this is the king of all Cars collecting sites.
They had nothing but great things to say about the site, and we couldn’t be more excited. To read the post and check out everything else that Take5 has to offer, click on the picture below or here: “Kids Today – Blog Today, Mattel Takeover Tomorrow”
We don’t collect all of the Disney Store cars, but we do usually pick up the Chase models, like Hot Rod Lightning McQueen. And we just couldn’t pass on Fabrizio. He’s supposed to be released as part of the Mattel lineup in 2013, but in a limited run. Here is Dawson’s video review. The photos should be up in the next day or two.
As usual, it was a “Cars” Christmas at our house this year. Check out Dawson’s video review of all his new “Cars” that he got for Christmas!
And as promised, here are some nice photos of his new Cars:
Mater Hawk – Front Angle
Mater Hawk is stunning! The detail is top-notch. He’s a great match for the Lightning McQueen Hawk car that we reviewed back in November.
Mater Hawk – Profile
As is always the case with the Mater cars, he’s a good mix of plastic and diecast.
Mater Hawk – Rear
He still has the “A113” license plate!
Aviator Mater – Front
Aviator Mater is going down as one of our all-time favorite cars. From top to bottom, this thing is phenomenal. The propeller in the back moves nicely and the goggles in the front give him that real goofy Mater face.
Aviator Mater – Rear Angle
Love it!
Aviator Mater – Profile
Ready for take-off!
Aviator Mater – Front Angle
Down for a safe landing!
Burnt Autonaut McQueen – Comparison
Burnt Autonaut Lightning McQueen isn’t too different from the original (non-burnt) version, but the expression on the face is priceless.
Burnt Autonaut McQueen – Comparison
This isn’t the first time Lightning McQueen has been burnt. Here is Burnt Autonaut McQueen with the original Burnt Lightning from the Rescue Squad Mater cartoon.
Don Crumlin – Front Angle
Don Crumlin is technically a bad guy, but he doesn’t look too intimidating with those sad eyes.
Don Crumlin – Rear Angle
Dawson calls him “Purple Grem”. I can see why.
Erik Lanely – Front Angle
The World Grand Prix presents… Erik Lanely! (brought to you by Honda)
Erik Lanely – Profile
In the package, the flag is not attached. It’s a separate piece that you have to plug in, but once it’s in there, it appears to be pretty snug.
Erik Lanely – Rear Angle
The details here are so nice that at first glance, this looks like a real car.
Falcon Hawk Black – Front Angle
Falcon Hawk Black comes complete with bandaged wing and landing gear down. Dawson still doesn’t understand why he’s got a smile if his wing is hurt.
Falcon Hawk & Falcon Hawk Black
Falcon Hawk (on the right) has no wheels out and is ready for flight.
Grem with Weapon – Comparison
Original Grem is on the left. The weapon (right) is a nice touch to add.
Grem with Weapon – Front Angle
Watch out… missiles are about to fly.
Grem with Weapon – Profile Comparison
Grem is our favorite lemon (aka “bad guy”).
Grem with Weapon – Rear Angle
Can we call this “Orange Don Crumlin with Weapon”?
Holley Shiftwell with Screen – Profile
Holley Shiftwell’s newest addition is a large blue screen, complete with spy images of the engine under the villain’s hood
Holley Shiftwell with Screen – Front Angle
Hmmm… whose engine is that?
Holley Shiftwell with Screen – Rear
That looks good, but let’s take a closer look…
Holley Shiftwell with Screen – Close Up Detail
Perfect! …and wow, that looks GREAT! The screen is actually transparent as well, so holding it up to a light really reveals the details.
J. Curby Gremlin – Front Angle
J. Curby Gremlin. The “J” stands for “Jay”.
J. Curby Gremlin – Profile
We love the “hockey stick” decal on the side!
J. Curby Gremlin – Top Angle
Purple and brown Grem?
Petey Pacer – Front Angle
Petey Pacer comes with a blow-torch… but don’t worry… it’s plastic.
Petey Pacer – Profile
The mask does not lift off his face…
Petey Pacer – Rear
…but the tanks do come out of that back tray.
Rip Clutchgoneski – Front Angle
Rip Clutchgoneski…. it’s about time! He is the last World Grand Prix racer to be released.
Rip Clutchgoneski – Profile
The colors really make this car stand out among the rest.
Rip Clutchgoneski – Rear
Beautiful!
